About the History
13th century (chapel), 1905 (château) · Belle Époque with medieval chapel
Founded in 1905 on the site of a medieval priory, the château was built in refined Belle Époque style and noticed by the pioneering Lumière brothers, who transformed it into a prestigious residence for the emerging Riviera aristocracy. The 13th-century chapel on the property was deconsecrated and has been beautifully renovated. During World War II, the property was requisitioned by the Italian army. It subsequently operated as a hotel until the late 1960s, after which it was passed to a family who added an elegant pool. Today under the ownership of Laetitia and Pascal Bataillé, it continues to inspire artists and visitors.
