About the History
19th century · Historic château blending heritage features with modern comforts
A 19th-century château with a romantic legend: an aristocrat fell in love with a shepherdess working on the estate's lands and married her, defying aristocratic norms. To celebrate their union, they planted a Cedar of Lebanon in the château's gardens. When their twins were born, a violent storm struck the tree and split it in two, symbolising both the strength and fragility of their love. This split cedar remains a focal point of the gardens today, attracting couples drawn to its romantic and legendary atmosphere.
