A Spectacular Wedding at Les Dominicains de Haute-Alsace

Location: Guebwiller • Grand Est • North of France

Set inside the Dominicans of Haute Alsace, Lea and Vincent’s wedding instantly made an impression. This former 14th-century convent in the Grand Est region offered the kind of setting that takes your breath away - soaring ceilings, striking arched windows, and historic stone glowing in the daylight. As natural light poured through the grand openings, the entire space felt bright, vibrant, and full of life. The atmosphere was warm and joyful from the very start, perfectly reflecting the couple’s deep love for their family and friends.

Lea and Vincent embraced the character of the historic venue while bringing in their own modern touch. The contrast between the centuries-old architecture and their contemporary vision created a celebration that felt fresh, stylish, and completely personal. It was the kind of day where design and emotion blended effortlessly - intimate, meaningful, and truly unforgettable.

Modern-Historic Atmosphere in Perfect Harmony

The ceremony unfolded at the beautiful Église Notre-Dame, creating an intimate yet spectacular start to the celebration. The setting felt both grand and personal, setting the tone for a day that balanced history with a fresh, modern spirit.

Back at the monastery, the design truly came to life. A U-shaped table layout brought guests closer, sparking conversation and shared laughter throughout the evening. Soft fabrics, muted green tones, and natural botanical touches added depth without overpowering the historic surroundings. The floral installation behind the couple’s seats became a real focal point, beautifully framing them while blending seamlessly with the overall decor.

The bride’s refined gown and the groom’s classic black suit fit effortlessly within the modern-historic vision. Every element worked together - from the flowing textiles to the carefully curated florals - creating a cohesive look where contemporary style met centuries-old architecture in the most effortless way.

A Stunning Wedding Planned by the Bride

With 80 of their closest family and friends gathered around them, this intimate celebration felt deeply personal from start to finish. The bride herself carefully organized the day, shaping every detail with a clear and heartfelt vision. From the flow of the event to the thoughtful touches woven throughout, her creativity gave the wedding its strong identity and sense of authenticity.

Elif Mengene, a talented bilingual photographer in France beautifully preserved the emotions and connections of the day. The natural light streaming through the grand windows, combined with the venue’s cinematic quality, provided a breathtaking backdrop. Elif Mengene’s work not only documented the heartfelt interactions and emotional moments but also captured the essence of the day, leaving the couple with cherished memories.

A religious wedding ceremony is taking place inside a grand Baroque-style church, shot from the rear of the nave looking toward the altar. The couple stands at the altar with what appears to be two officiants in white robes; the bride is wearing a full-length white gown with a train. Approximately 40–50 guests are seated in dark wooden pews on either side of the central aisle, dressed in formal attire including dark suits, a red dress, and a light grey suit. The church interior features vaulted coffered ceilings, tall ornate columns, red carpet on the altar steps, candelabras, and an elaborate sculptural altarpiece with white marble figures and gilded details at the far end. Small floral arrangements in warm orange and red tones are visible near the altar. The shot is a wide, symmetrical composition taken from a standing position at the back of the aisle.
