Rustic Pink Wedding at Chateau de Vallery near Paris

Château de Vallery, a Historic Renaissance château perfect for intimate weddings near Paris offered the perfect backdrop for Nell and Cody’s romantic French wedding. Designed by Pierre Lescot in the 16th century and once home to the Princes of Condé, the château blended historic grandeur with modern comfort. Guests stayed across the luxury Paris weddings venue’s 28 rooms and enjoyed a full itinerary of events, from wine tastings in the medieval cellar to a Moroccan feast in the Riyad. The three-day celebration felt like a destination house party, where family and friends shared in the couple’s love of France, fine food, and joyful company.

A Pink Princess Gown and Thoughtful French Details

The bride’s connection to France ran deep, having lived in Aquitaine years before. For her wedding, she wore a pale pink Amalia Carrara ball gown paired with a champagne beaded headpiece and matching veil. Hair and makeup were handled by local French artists, creating a soft and romantic bridal look. Guests were greeted with welcome boxes featuring regional treats and wine, setting the tone for an immersive experience at Château de Vallery. Pre-wedding activities included garden games, a bridesmaid’s luncheon, and guided tours of the château all leading to the 4:00 ceremony in the rose garden, bathed in warm afternoon light.

A Ceremony of Traditions, Music, and Moving Moments

The ceremony intertwined French and American traditions, featuring readings, blessings, and a flower ritual led by celebrant Pierre-Henri Therond of Love Gracefully. The bride walked down the aisle to All I Ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera, a nod to her lifelong love of Paris and theatre. The ceremony ended with a surprise butterfly release arranged by the groom’s parents. Guests then enjoyed champagne and hors d’oeuvres before gathering in the Salon de Musique for a five-course dinner featuring foie gras, lobster, and beef Wellington. Speeches and toasts filled the evening with heartfelt emotion.

A Grand Finale of Fireworks, Cake, and Celebration

As night fell, guests moved into the Grand Galerie for dessert and dancing beneath rose and ivy arrangements suspended from the ceiling. A fifteen-minute fireworks display lit up the grounds before the arrival of a sparkler-lined wedding cake designed by Cristina Lasarte of Paris Luxury Cakes. The couple’s penguin cake topper added a touch of playful personality. Their first dance returned to All I Ask of You, followed by a Beatles-inspired father–daughter moment. Changing into a flapper-style party dress, Nell danced into the night before setting off on a European honeymoon through Geneva, Venice, Rome, and Monaco - the perfect continuation of their French château love story.
