A Provençal Celebration at Le Galinier de Lourmarin Surrounded by Lavender

Le Galinier de Lourmarin, a rustic wedding venue in the Provence village of Lourmarin offered Georgia and Florent a Provençal setting that felt effortlessly cinematic. The 18th-century mas, surrounded by lavender fields and olive trees, created a serene backdrop for their destination celebration. The couple, who live in Sydney, gathered friends and family on the estate’s three-hectare park for a weekend full of laughter and warmth. Their outdoor ceremony by the pond reflected the south of France wedding villa’s understated beauty, while soft light and fragrant blooms filled the air with a sense of calm and joy.

A Celebration Framed by Nature and Provençal Style

The day began in the villa’s sunlit rooms, where Georgia and Florent prepared with their families in a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. Georgia wore a Karen Willis Holmes gown that moved with natural ease, paired with Roman & French jewellery and Tony Bianco shoes. Her bridesmaids in dusty pink silk mirrored the soft tones of the landscape, while Florent and his groomsmen chose classic navy suits by Hugo Boss. Pastel flowers by Potins de Fleurs added quiet colour throughout the space, echoing the garden’s hues of lavender, rose, and eucalyptus. Every detail complemented the villa’s warm stone and gentle light.

Dinner Beneath the Provence Sky

As evening settled, guests gathered for cocktails in the villa courtyard before dining beside the pool under an open-sided tent by Be Lounge. Rows of long tables, draped in soft linens and decorated with elegant stationery and festoon lights, invited conversation and celebration. The menu, prepared by Brunet Frères, celebrated French flavours, leading into heartfelt speeches and laughter that carried into the night. The celebration was documented by Mark Ward, one of the most respected wedding photographers in Provence, whose digital and film images captured the radiant light, emotion, and authentic intimacy of the day.

Design and Details

A vintage pale mint-green Citroën 2CV is parked on a gravel driveway facing the camera, decorated with a floral arrangement of greenery on the hood. The outdoor setting features a stone wall entrance gate flanked by tall hedges and lavender plantings along the driveway edges. No people are visible; this is a detail/wide shot focused on the wedding car as a decorative element. The overall styling leans rustic-Provençal, consistent with a French countryside property.
