A Laid-Back Luxury Wedding at Manoir de Longeveau in Dordogne
Set amid the rolling hills and honey-colored stone of the Charente borderlands, Rachael and Guy’s destination wedding at the stunning french chateaux Manoir de Longeveau unfolded in true South of France style. This Family-friendly holiday estate in southwest France with cottages, pools, golf and tennis offered a tranquil, private setting surrounded by fields and cypress-lined paths. Family and friends arrived from the UK for a long weekend of connection and celebration. With soft white florals, local cuisine, and golden evening light, the atmosphere carried an easy elegance that reflected both the region’s warmth and the couple’s understated taste.
A Ceremony Steeped in French History and Emotion
The ceremony took place inside the Monolithic Church of Saint-Jean in nearby Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, a remarkable 12th-century chapel carved directly into the rock. Under vaulted ceilings and candlelit walls, Rachael walked down the aisle in an off-the-shoulder gown by Ingrid Olic Bridal, her veil floating softly behind. Guy wore a tailored tuxedo from Roy Robson Fashion, his expression one of quiet joy. The altar, dressed in gentle arrangements by Les Fleurs Coupées, framed the couple beautifully. As their vows echoed through the stone interior, the moment felt deeply intimate, marking the emotional center of the weekend.
Alfresco Dining and Easy Summer Joy at Manoir de Longeveau
After the ceremony, guests gathered for champagne in the village square before returning to Manoir de Longeveau for dinner beneath string lights. Long tables filled the courtyard, dressed in pale linens, simple flowers, and refined details from Our Fabulous Things. Planner Robbie Wei of Marry Me in France, among the top luxury wedding planners in France, brought the celebration together with precision and ease. The day was documented by Bowness Photography, one of France’s leading wedding photographers, whose work captured the golden light, joyful faces, and quiet beauty of this South of France celebration.
