A Romantic Lavender Wedding at Château de Bagnols near Lyon

Rebecca and Piers’ Château de Bagnol, one of the finest 5 Star chateau wedding venues near Lyon‘s wedding captured the essence of southern French romance a perfect harmony of heritage, colour, and heartfelt celebration. Set among the lavender-lined gardens of this 13th-century château, the couple welcomed a hundred guests from the UK for a weekend that felt equal parts celebration and summer retreat. The day unfolded in soft tones of lavender, grey, and rose, chosen to reflect the surrounding landscape. Between the medieval stone walls of this beautiful wedding property in Beaujolais and sweeping countryside views, their outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and late-night dancing created a rhythm that felt both refined and full of life.

Château de Bagnols was more than just a venue for Rebecca and Piers - it was a return to a place they had fallen in love with years earlier. Its medieval courtyards, stone archways, and lavender gardens offered a natural stage for their summer celebration. Under the guidance of Bulles & Compagnie, one of the Rhône’s trusted wedding planners, the couple brought their vision of rustic romance to life. Guests were greeted with lavender confetti after an open-air ceremony set to live piano music, followed by champagne and canapés in the gardens. Dinner was served in the grand Salles des Gardes, where laughter filled the candlelit room and traditional speeches set the tone for a lively night ahead. The atmosphere was joyous, personal, and distinctly French the kind of evening that lingers long after the last toast.
