Location: 1 hour from Bordeaux, Nouvelle Aquitaine, South of France
Château Marcellus, an 18th-century historic French Chateau located in the Bordeaux region stood as a neoclassical masterpiece of the South of France, its 18th-century columns and grand salons reimagined for a modern wedding editorial. A Modern Wedding Day at Château Marcellus
The day began not with formal prep but with movement and ease. By the pool, the bride wore a minimalist white swimsuit edged in black, her vintage headband and natural styling setting the tone for what followed. The groom, in a loose black shirt and silver chains, matched her effortless cool portrait of contemporary love under the southern sun. Inside, Château Marcellus revealed layers of gold and grey, with dahlias, yellow wallpaper, and soft veils adding texture to the couple’s morning. Their first look unfolded in the grand salon, where neoclassical columns, velvet seating, and filtered light framed their quiet anticipation.
Fashion, Florals & A Fresh Take on Classic Style
Every detail reflected a designer’s touch and a modern French sensibility. Inspired by Chanel’s 2022 runway, the bride’s draped lingerie-style dress and ballet flats gave structure a new softness. The groom’s tailored ease brought balance to the château’s grand scale. For the ceremony, they chose an iron balcony framed by florals in soft pastels hydrangeas, orchids, and anthuriums tumbling over stone. Later, the bride changed into a Tatyana Kochnova gown with a pearl-embellished corset, then an Alaïa-inspired mermaid silhouette with sheer sleeves and bold jewelry. Each look layered intention and movement, expressing individuality within timeless form.
Creative Vision by Weds In May and Sasha Dove
The editorial’s rhythm and atmosphere came together under Weds In May, one of plann known for blending design precision with emotional flow. The story was captured by Sasha Dove, one of the most admired wedding photographers in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, whose work emphasized movement, natural light, and modern intimacy. Through their combined vision, Château Marcellus transformed into a living gallery a space where fashion, architecture, and romance coexisted. The day closed back by the pool, champagne in hand, as laughter and late-summer air carried into night a fitting finale to a celebration that felt completely, unmistakably French.
