A Romantic Elopement at Château Smith Haut Lafitte in Bordeaux

Set in the heart of Bordeaux’s wine country, this elopement unfolded between two of Nouvelle-Aquitaine’s most serene wedding estates: Les Sources de Caudalie and Château Smith Haut Lafitte. Planned by Christelle Guégan and captured by Sorya Pedoussaut, the styled celebration brought together vineyard tranquillity and refined French artistry. The story followed a modern couple escaping to the South of France for a private exchange of vows surrounded by nature, art, and fine wine. Between the vineyard rows and garden terraces, every frame echoed the romance, luxury, and quiet sophistication of Bordeaux.

Wedding Inspiration

Two Venues, Three Gowns, and One Vision

The editorial paired two locations to showcase Bordeaux’s dual character: the boho charm of Les Sources de Caudalie and the classical grace of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The bride wore three distinct gowns one for each setting and a final look for the evening garden dinner. Stationery mirrored the same concept, balancing rustic textures with elegant calligraphy. The luxury Bordeaux wedding venue‘s terrace garden hosted the ceremony beneath a round floral arch, where a trained owlet was meant to deliver the rings before a playful gust of wind intervened. The scene was poetic, blending natural whimsy with timeless romance.

A Garden Dinner Under the Stars

As daylight faded, dinner was set al fresco among the gardens, where a long table glowed beneath soft candlelight and the scent of vines carried through the air. The cake and tablescape embraced organic shapes and warm tones, complementing the natural setting. The day’s symbolic centrepiece was an eagle graceful and majestic representing freedom and unity. Under Christelle Guégan’s direction, each detail honoured the animals’ welfare and the spirit of the place. Photographer Sorya Pedoussaut, one of the best wedding photographers in Bordeaux, captured the atmosphere in delicate tones, preserving both emotion and elegance in every image.
