In the gentle countryside of Gers, Lumi and Michael, an Anglo-Romanian couple based in London, celebrated their union surrounded by close family and friends. Drawn to the South West for its sunshine, local food and tranquil beauty, they chose Château de Puissentut, a unique wedding chateau that can accommodate 120 guests for its balance of rustic charm and modern elegance. The château, restored by its English owners to a high standard, offered accommodation for all their guests allowing the weekend to unfold in one peaceful setting. Its soft stone, manicured gardens, and warm interiors created a relaxed, intimate atmosphere for the couple’s elegant summer wedding.

Ceremony, Music and Rustic Style

The day began with an English-speaking Catholic ceremony in a nearby church before guests returned to the beautifully restored medieval chateau with rustic interiors near Toulouse for a relaxed afternoon of music and celebration. A jazz trio, Abarrejadis, played through the cocktail hour while Lisa Crossley’s vintage ice-cream van added a playful note. Dinner featured a local hog roast from Auberge La Baquère, complemented by fresh salads and followed by a traditional pièce montée glowing with candles. The couple’s styling was simple yet refined: the groom wore a tailored Dress2Kill suit, while Lumi’s graceful Phase Eight gown and natural makeup by Sarah Fekir reflected the day’s elegant, rustic tone.

Planning with Local Expertise

The wedding was planned and photographed by Clémentine of Awardweddings, one of the most trusted bilingual wedding planners and photographers in the South of France. Her local insight and hands-on coordination ensured that Lumi and Michael could simply enjoy their day. Floral design by Camomille Flowers and candlelit wooden tables enhanced the château’s natural charm without excess. The evening ended with a sparkler-lit first dance beneath the stars the perfect close to a day shaped by care, craft and joy. Awardweddings, among the top destination wedding photographers in France, captured every heartfelt detail, giving the couple timeless memories of their elegant Château de Puissentut celebration.
