Deep Red Inspiration at Couvent Notre-Dame des Prés near Marseille

In the sunlit hills of Provence, Couvent Notre-Dame des Prés provided the canvas for a wedding inspiration shoot that redefined red. Once a quiet 12th-century convent, the venue now stands as a striking blend of historic stone and contemporary style a rare mix of serenity and sophistication. The editorial played with contrast: soft minimalism offset by bold, red accents that added drama without excess. Each element, from the floral design to the fashion, was deliberate yet effortless. The result was an exploration of tone and texture, where the warmth of Provence met the precision of modern design, proving that bold color can feel both timeless and refined.

Getting Ready

The ceremony unfolded beneath tall willow trees, framed by two sculptural floral pillars that balanced structure and nature. La Serre Hyères created striking arrangements of red ranunculus, anthuriums, and clusters of grapes, bringing movement and depth to the space. The bride wore a sleek, architectural gown by Weddings Secrets, paired with subtle sparkle from Zéphyrade jewelry. The groom’s black tuxedo provided the perfect counterpoint to the vivid color story. Captured by Gaetana Valastro, one of the most talented wedding photographers in Provence, the imagery highlighted light, texture, and the quiet connection between the couple every look intentional, every frame alive with contrast.

For the reception design, Mamma Mia Events and Pièces Uniques Location crafted a minimalist tablescape with bold red undertones. White linens and glassware stood out against accents of ribbon, fruit, and deep florals, achieving a clean yet expressive balance. The sculptural cake by Célébrons Joliment echoed this duality refined in form, daring in detail. The creative team completed the vision with Haingo of Coiff’Event83 styling soft, polished waves, and MB Makeup & Beauty creating a glowing complexion with a red lip that tied the look together. Modern stationery by Tezenas Studio and textural pieces from Joli Bazaar added depth and French character. Through it all, Neil Wedding Films documented the rhythm and emotion of the shoot, capturing how light and color came together to transform this Provençal convent into a space where heritage met high design.
