California Sweethearts to Luxury Wedding at Chateau Gassies in Bordeaux
Kaitlyn Murray and Eric Miller traced a path from a USC bar to a Napa proposal, then crossed the Atlantic for a summer gathering near Bordeaux. Château Gassies, an 18th century estate minutes from the Bordeaux train station, offered historic stone, timbered ceilings, chandeliers, and lawns with city views. In the South of France light, over 100 guests arrived to soft blues and whites across the garden, heard chairs settle on gravel, and watched the processional form. This unique location, 5 mn away from Bordeaux, overlooking the city and the Garonne river terraces guided movement from arrival to seating while staff adjusted shade and water service. The day opened with clear skies, light breeze, and steady anticipation.
Ceremony Music, Dana Harel Lace, and Garden Blues Against Stone
The ceremony read personal and measured. A string trio played Can’t Help Falling in Love as Kaitlyn walked the aisle in a Dana Harel gown with lace and scalloped detail that suited the stone surrounds. Eric’s father officiated, and the couple exchanged vows while greenery framed the chairs and pale blue accents threaded through florals and ribbons. Guests, some on long-haul flights, listened as cicadas hummed and cameras clicked. Applause rose, petals moved in the breeze, and portraits began along the paths. This picture-perfect setting for a summer celebration appeared in every frame, its architecture setting pace as the group shifted from lawn to terrace for cocktails.
Inside the Château: Six Cocktails, Candlelight, and Five Generations
Evening service unfolded within the château’s walls where exposed beams, crystal chandeliers, and antique mirrors set the scene. Long tables in white linens held hundreds of candles, personalized macarons marked each place, and six signature cocktails moved from trays to conversation. Moments of note included the bride’s grandmother making her first international trip and a family cake knife used across five marriages. Flow and finish came together under the experienced wedding planner Samkoma World, while one of europe’s best wedding photographers Still Miracle recorded toasts, textures, and late-night dancing. As doors opened to night air, guests stepped outside, heard music drift across the courtyard, and returned for a final round.
